HOW TO BE AN EFFECTIVE BUSINESS LEADER?
By Harneet Kaur
There are specific qualities and skills associated with strong and successful business leaders. The foremost is the ability to attain the task effectively within a time limit and under any pressure. This is followed by growth in performance and reliability.
Here are a few skills that you must possess or try hard to
develop to become a successful business leader.
COMMUNICATION:
The communication skill is all about receiving and delivering
INFORMATION in the best possible way. To make your skill
advance, you need to consider your AUDIENCE and their
queries.
SELF MOTIVATION:
The skill to initiate is very important. A business leader is
never afraid to initiate and complete a project without
guidance or supervision. To remain self-motivated, learn to
voice your ideas and remain proactive.
ADAPTABILITY:
By adaptability, we mean the efficiency to adapt under
challenging situations and circumstances. We often come
across or face situations that are complicated and stressful.
A true business leader can tackle such circumstances with an
immediate and effective approach.
SELF-AWARENESS:
The most important quality of a business leader is
self-awareness. It is a skill that enables the person to
understand how he is perceived by others. It is about
understanding your flaws and letting those working around
you know that you are working on overcoming them.
When you understand your values, personality and habits,
you can analyse how your actions reflect these traits and how
it is conceived by others around you.
PEOPLE SKILLS:
As much as it seems to be an obvious trait in a business leader,
many lacks it. By people skills we mean, the skill to understand
people, observe people around us, how to communicate and
how to adapt.
Apart from the above-mentioned traits, a business leader
reflects confidence, courage and passion. He encourages and
boosts the same in those working with him. The leader
recognises not only his strength and weakness but those
around him.
