Boeing 737 Jet of Ukraine International Airlines Crash in Iran with at least 169 people on Board

According to local media reports, the Boeing Company 737 Jet crashed in Iran carrying at least 170 people shortly after takeoff due to technical problems.

State television reported that the plane crashed at 6:22 am local time. According to reports, four helicopters and 22 ambulances were dispatched to the accident site, but a serious fire hampered rescue efforts.

Emergency personnel are trying to rescue any survivors, said Pirhosin Koliwand, head of the Iranian Emergency Organization, in a state run by the IRNN.

The 737-800 jet was headed for Ukraine, the semi-official Iranian Student News Agency reported. FlightRadar24 of the website reported that Flight 752 of Ukraine International Airlines left Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport for Kiev's Borspil International Airport at local time on Wednesday morning.

According to Iran's state television, a Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashed shortly after takeoff from Iran's main international airport.

Civil aviation spokesman Raza Jafarzadeh said there was an investigation team at the crash site on the southwestern outskirts of Tehran.

"The plane is on fire but we have sent crew ... and we may be able to rescue some passengers," said Pirhosin Kolivand, Iran's chief of emergency services.

He later said: "The fire is so heavy that we cannot rescue ... We have 22 ambulances, four bus ambulances and a helicopter."

According to the website FlightRadar24, flight data from the airport showed 737-800 flown by Ukraine International Airlines on Wednesday morning, then stopped sending data almost immediately.

A few hours after the accident, Iran launched a ballistic missile attack, targeting two targets in Iraq's accommodation and attacking coalition forces in retaliation for the killing of Revolutionary Guard General Qasim Solimani.

राज्य टेलीविजन ने बताया कि विमान स्थानीय समयानुसार सुबह 6:22 बजे दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, चार हेलीकॉप्टरों और 22 एम्बुलेंस को दुर्घटनास्थल पर भेजा गया था, लेकिन गंभीर आग बचाव के प्रयासों में बाधा उत्पन्न कर रही थी।

नागरिक उड्डयन प्रवक्ता रजा जाफरजादेह ने कहा कि तेहरान के दक्षिण-पश्चिम बाहरी इलाके में दुर्घटना स्थल पर एक जांच दल था।

ईरान के आपातकालीन सेवाओं के प्रमुख पीरहोसिन कोलिवैंड ने कहा, "विमान में आग लगी है लेकिन हमने चालक दल भेजे हैं ... और हम कुछ यात्रियों को बचाने में सक्षम हो सकते हैं।"

बाद में उन्होंने कहा: "आग इतनी भारी है कि हम बचाव नहीं कर सकते हैं ... हमारे पास 22 एम्बुलेंस, चार बस एम्बुलेंस और एक हेलीकाप्टर है।"
